Why planned maintenance

Look after your equipment before it lets you down.

Planned preventive maintenance keeps refrigeration running reliably and gives you a clear record of every visit.

Fewer breakdowns

Regular cleaning and checks catch worn parts, iced coils and dirty condensers before they cause a failure.

Stock protection

Equipment that holds its temperature reliably means less risk of losing stock to a breakdown.

Food safety records

A written report after every visit supports your food safety records and is useful when an Environmental Health Officer (EHO) visits.

Energy efficiency

Clean coils and correctly working systems don’t have to work as hard, which helps keep running costs down.

Longer equipment life

Looking after compressors, fans, seals and controls reduces wear and helps equipment last longer.

F-Gas leak checks

Some systems need regular leak checks under F-Gas rules, depending on the refrigerant and how much the system holds. We carry out and record these checks for systems that need them.

What a visit includes

What a typical maintenance visit covers.

  • Clean condensers and evaporators so the system can move heat efficiently.
  • Check the refrigerant and leak test the system.
  • Check door seals, fans and controllers for wear and faults.
  • Check temperatures and alarms are working and set correctly.
  • Check drains are clear and draining properly.
  • Written report after each visit.

Visits are usually quarterly or bi-annual, tailored to your equipment and how hard it works.

FAQ

Maintenance contract questions.

Straight answers to the questions we hear most from kitchens, food retailers and other commercial sites.

How often should commercial refrigeration be serviced?

Most commercial refrigeration benefits from a planned service every three or six months (quarterly or bi-annual). Equipment that works hard, such as cold rooms in busy kitchens, usually needs more frequent visits. We’ll recommend a frequency once we’ve seen your equipment and how it’s used.

What does a maintenance visit include?

A typical visit includes cleaning condensers and evaporators, checking the refrigerant and leak testing, checking door seals, fans, controllers, temperatures, alarms and drains, and a written report afterwards. For a fuller explanation, read what a refrigeration maintenance contract includes.

Can I book a one-off service instead of a contract?

Yes. If you’re not ready for a contract, we can do a one-off service visit with a written report. Many customers start this way and move to a planned maintenance contract later.

Do you provide service reports?

Yes. You get a written report after each visit, recording what we checked, what we found and anything that needs attention. It’s useful for your food safety records.

Is breakdown cover included?

Planned maintenance covers your scheduled service visits. If something goes wrong between visits, 24/7 breakdown support is available, with same-day call-outs across London. Ask us about breakdown cover when we quote, or call 020 8050 4009.

Do you cover F-Gas leak checks?

Yes. Some refrigeration and air conditioning systems need regular leak checks under F-Gas rules, depending on the refrigerant and how much the system holds. Our F-Gas certified engineers can carry out and record these checks as part of your maintenance plan.

Can you maintain our air conditioning too?

Yes. Our main focus is commercial refrigeration, but we can include air conditioning maintenance in your plan. Tell us what equipment you have when you ask for a quote.
